Our efforts are currently focused on helping alumni navigate the economic challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have lost revenue–whether due to cancelled gigs, layoffs, or other causes–fill out this form. We hope to share information with NOCCA fans and others who may be hiring.

Relief funds and other resources

Below is a growing list of resources available to support individuals and businesses that have suffered economic losses due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Some of these resources are specific to New Orleans or Louisiana, so if you’re an alum in another area and need support, please email our Director of Alumni Relations, Rachel Swan, at rswan@noccainstitute.com, and she’ll do some research!

Grants and loans: New Orleans-area

>>>Collaborative Relief Fund
The Platforms Fund has suspended its normal granting program to provide $2,000 individual emergency relief grants to local creators. 

>>Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund
For musicians who reside in Louisiana, derive a “substantial” part of their income from live performances, and are professional musicians (not students).

Learn more about these low-interest federal disaster loans or apply here. Also, here’s a list of suggestions that a local New Orleans business owner shared with their State Representative Mandi Landry (District 91).

>>>The New Orleans Business Alliance Relief Fund
Direct support (via PayPal) to residents of Orleans Parish who generate at least 60% of their income from gig-work.
